In this class students are introduced to significant events and people in American History from the discovery of America through the end of the Civil War. It is hoped that students will gain an interest in history and an understanding of how history has shaped the way we live today. The focus is on events and ideas that do relate to the students life. In addition to the text, supplementary materials will be used, including videos that correspond to the particular concept of each historical time period. In order to help students learn in this class, participation in discussions is important. Students will need a notebook for Daily Geography and a notebook for History.
